Marlboro Man and I first tried fried ravioli a century or two ago when we were visiting St. Louis, Missouri. By the way, did you know it's a specialty there? Only they call it "toasted ravioli," despite it being deep-fried. Ever since, I've loved recreating them at home for a yummy appetizer or game day food (here's my toasted ravioli recipe, if you want it). But recently, I decided to ditch the deep frying and make them in my air fryer instead. Now, I may never go back.
These air fryer ravioli are golden, crunchy, and—most importantly—easy to cook. Just grab a package of ravioli from the refrigerated section at the grocery store, bread them, and fry them. The key is to spritz both sides of the ravioli with a little cooking spray before air frying to help them brown and crisp up. Everyone will think these are classic fried ravioli and you won't have a bunch of grease splatters to clean up. That's the beauty of air fryer recipes. I call that a win-win!
Can you use frozen ravioli for this recipe?
No, stick with refrigerated ravioli. I find that frozen ravioli becomes a little too chewy when it's breaded and air-fried, but refrigerated ravioli comes out just right! I usually stick with simple cheese ravioli (it's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!), but you can switch up the filling flavor. Just don't forget the marinara sauce.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup
seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup
grated parmesan cheese (about 2 ounces), plus more for serving
- 1 Tbsp.
half-and-half
- 1
large egg
- 1
(9-ounce) package refrigerated cheese ravioli
Cooking spray, for the ravioli
- 1 Tbsp.
flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup
marinara sauce, warmed
Directions
- Step 1Preheat the air fryer to 350°F, if required.
- Step 2In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs and parmesan. In another shallow dish, beat together the half-and-half and egg. Dip the ravioli in the egg mixture and then coat them in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to help it adhere. Place the ravioli on a large plate as you work. Spray the ravioli generously with cooking spray on both sides.
- Step 3Working in 2 batches, arrange the ravioli in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Fry until lightly golden, 5 to 6 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown and crisp, 5 to 6 minutes more.
- Step 4Sprinkle the ravioli with parsley and more parmesan, and serve with marinara sauce.
