What's the best way to melt candy melts?

Simply place the melts in microwave-safe bowls and heat them in short bursts in the microwave, stirring often, until smooth and melted. For the best results, follow the package instructions for timing. If the melts start to harden while you're working with them, pop them back in the microwave to re-melt. Any leftover candy melts can be cooled, broken into pieces, and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for future use. Keep in mind that repeated melting may affect the texture slightly, though they’ll still work for most decorative uses.

Can you make Easter bark in advance?

Absolutely! This Easter bark stays fresh for a while. It can be kept whole or broken up in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Let it thaw at room temperature before enjoying.

Ingredients

  • 16

    whole graham crackers

  • 2 cups

white candy melts (about 12 ounces)

  • 3/4 cup

light pink candy melts (about 4.5 ounces)

  • 3/4 cup

light blue candy melts (about 4.5 ounces)

  • 3/4 cup

yellow candy melts (about 4.5 ounces)

  • 1/4 cup

pastel candy-coated chocolates (such as M&M's)

  • 2 Tbsp.

    pastel sprinkles or Easter sprinkles

Directions

    1. Step 1Arrange the graham crackers in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet, breaking to fit as needed.
    2. Step 2Melt the white, pink, blue, and yellow candy melts in separate medium microwave-safe bowls according to the package directions.
    3. Step 3Working quickly before the melts harden, pour the white candy melts over the graham crackers and spread in an even layer using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon. Drop spoonfuls of the pink, blue, and yellow candy melts randomly over the white layer. Swirl with a toothpick to create a marbled look.
    4. Step 4Top the bark with the candy-coated chocolates and sprinkles while the melts are still wet. Refrigerate until set, about 15 minutes. Break into pieces.

Tip: Easter bark will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
