Paige Drummond and her fiancé—now husband!—David Andersen went all out for their wedding celebration. The event was held May 17 on Drummond Ranch and featured larger-than-life floral arrangements, a bustling dance floor, and of course amazing food (check out Ree’s favorite photos from the big day here!). The evening was full of excitement, and the cutting of the cake was no exception.

As one of their first compromises as a married couple, Paige and David made everyone happy by featuring two cakes at their wedding, both baked by Norman, Oklahoma-based Amy Cakes (she made the cake for Alex Drummond’s 2021 wedding, too!). The main cake was modern-yet-romantic, wrapped in cascading ranunculus, sweet peas and roses, and featuring nine tiers of varying heights that stood tall above the statuesque couple. Under the buttercream frosting were two flavors: a classic white cake with a raspberry filling and an Italian cream cake with cream cheese filling—Paige’s favorite.

They chose the classic white cake as a crowd pleaser, and the Italian cream was all for Paige. “I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s my favorite cake,” Paige says. “I had to have it at my wedding!”

David’s groom’s cake was more playful: It was shaped like an old cherry-red pickup truck—a 1971 Ford F-100, David’s dream car—complete with a few cans of beer in the cargo bed and a crumbled graham cracker “dirt” road. Under the fondant was a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and ganache. Special touches included an Oklahoma State University (his alma mater) license plate and a Seattle Seahawks bumper sticker.

Getting the cakes to the ranch was a bit of a challenge. Amy Cullifer, the bakery owner, was tracking the weather all week to see whether she’d be transporting and assembling the cakes during a thunderstorm. Luckily, the wedding day arrived with perfect weather, but her truck broke down just before the event. “I always joke I've shaved years off my life delivering cakes,” Amy says. “There’s always something.” She borrowed a truck and brought each tier in its own box, then assembled the cake on site.

During the ceremony, the couple cut into their cake hand-in-hand as friends and family looked on. After a few bites, they were back on the dance floor. But there was more cake to be had: The wedding planners stocked the fridge at Ree’s house with all the leftover cake at the end of the night, and the couple (with their family) spent their first day as newlyweds snacking on it. Fortunately, there was enough for Ree to freeze in a special parcel for Paige and David to eat together on their first anniversary!
