One of the most classic Mother's Day activities to get the whole family involved is serving her breakfast in bed. It makes sense, right? Mom gets to relax and let someone else take the role of caregiver for a bit. It's a sign of such love and appreciation for what she does on a regular basis. It's certainly one of Ree Drummond's core memories of her kids: "This kind of occasion isn’t about elaborate food… it's about the sweet, sweet gesture."

Of course, it would help if the food was edible. 😂 So, it's best to start with kid-friendly Mother's Day recipes, where the ideas aren't super complicated. With a bit of adult supervision, the recipes listed here are easy enough for the kids to lend a hand and the end results will fill Mom with joy and a delicious meal. There's everything from make-ahead breakfast casseroles that the kids can help layer to lots of fun ways to use a can of store-bought biscuits.

While most of the recipes here are geared towards a Mother's Day brunch menu, there are a few desserts that will be such a sweet way to celebrate her big day. There's even cake made from scratch that will help teach kids the basics of measuring and mixing. No matter what you decide to help them make, just remember to tell the kids that washing the dishes afterwards is the most important part of the recipe. Mom will appreciate that most of all!
