Ingredients
- 3 lb.
ground turkey
- 2
large egg yolks
- 2
garlic cloves, grated
- 1
small onion, grated
- 1/2 cup
fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup
fresh dill, chopped
- 1 Tbsp.
paprika
- 1 Tbsp.
Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp.
kosher salt, plus more to taste
Black pepper, to taste
- 1/3 cup
mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup
dijon mustard
Vegetable oil, for brushing
- 6
thick slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 6
pretzel rolls, split and toasted
- 12
slices bacon, cooked and broken in half
Iceberg lettuce, for topping
Directions
- Step 1Preheat a grill to medium high. Combine the turkey, egg yolks, garlic, onion, parsley, dill, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, 1½ teaspoons salt and a few grinds of pepper in a large bowl. Mix with your hands until well combined. Form into six 1-inch-thick patties (about 4½ inches wide). Season the patties with salt and pepper.
- Step 2Stir together the mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl and set aside.
- Step 3Brush the grill and both sides of the turkey burgers with vegetable oil. Grill the burgers until marked on the bottom, about 6 minutes. (Don’t move the burgers until the bottoms are well cooked or they might stick.) Carefully flip the burgers and grill until cooked through, 5 to 6 more minutes; top each with a slice of cheese during the last 1 to 2 minutes and cover to melt.
- Step 4Spread the mustard sauce on the rolls. Serve the burgers on the rolls with the bacon and lettuce.
