What's the big deal about dill dip? A: It's versatile. B: It's creamy. C: It's so easy to make! In the world of devour-and-enjoy party dips, dill dip may not be the flashiest, but she sure is the easiest! Whether you're looking for a simple Easter appetizer or you just need a fast-fix dip for surprise guests, dill dip comes together with ease thanks to fridge and pantry staples.

What is dill dip made of?

This recipes starts with a base of sour cream and mayonnaise for rich creaminess, then punches it up with a little pickle juice, plus lots of dried dill, parsley, minced dried onions, and garlic.

Can you use fresh dill instead of dried dill?

This recipe calls for dried dill so that you can whip this dip up with ease. If you're wondering ;when to use fresh versus dried herbs, follow this rule of thumb: If you want to use fresh dill, you'll need to use more, as dried dill has more concentrated flavor than fresh; if using dried herbs, be sure to let this dip hang out in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to give the dried herbs time to soften before serving. Chopped, fresh dill makes a bright garnish, but is completely optional.

What goes with dill dip?

The beauty of dill dip is that it's so easy-going and versatile. Pop a bowl of it in the middle of a veggie platter of carrot and celery sticks, radishes, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper strips, raw snap peas, and cucumber slices for an effortless (and beautiful) appetizer. It's also great with any variety of crunchy chips or pretzels, so pile those on, too! You can also spoon a dollop of dill dip over roasted salmon or sautéed asparagus as a simple sauce. (Told you it was versatile!)
