If you're having guests over this fall, for a Halloween party, Thanksgiving meal, or any time in between, make a big batch of apple cider sangria! This apple cider cocktail is neither exhausting nor difficult, and it's really really delicious. The ingredient list is short and sweet, and it's even better if you make it a day in advance. Pull it out as a special, adults-only sipper as a reward for all your hard work. You'll thank yourself.
What is apple cider sangria?
It's everything you love about both apple cider recipes and sangria recipes, all in one! The apple cider and apple brandy really bring home the cozy fall flavor, but the white wine, ginger ale, and lemon juice brighten and lighten it up.
Can you make apple cider sangria ahead of time?
Yes, in fact, you should! Apple cider sangria should be made at least four hours before it is served so all the flavors have a chance to meld. But, it can be made up to one whole day in advance, which means it's the perfect thing to check off your party planning to-do list ahead of time.
What's the difference between apple juice and apple cider?
They're very similar but still different. Here's the breakdown of apple cider versus apple juice: Apple juice is juice of apples that is filtered and pasteurized to extend its shelf life. Apple cider, on the other hand, is the raw, unfiltered, and usually unpasteurized juice from apples.
What white wine is best for sangria?
Go with a dry, crisp white wine. Any sweeter variety would make the fall cocktail too sweet. It doesn't have to be fancy, but make sure it's something that you like to drink. A type of wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio works well.
Are you supposed to eat the fruit in sangria?
You certainly can if you like! In this recipe, the apples soak up all the delicious flavors of the cider, wine, and brandy, and make a nice little snack while you sip the sangria.
