Christmas Day should be filled with festivities from beginning to end, and this dazzling Christmas morning punch is the perfect way to kick things off. The not-too-sweet punch is made from fruit juices and sparkling apple juice for a non-alcoholic Christmas drink even the kiddos can enjoy. The ice cubes add that extra spark of magic here: Pomegranate seeds and rosemary sprigs look like holly frozen in snow! Making the punch ahead allows the fresh ginger to release all its flavor, plus it saves time in preparing Christmas breakfast so you can relax with family opening presents by the tree.
What is Christmas punch made of?
This delicious holiday punch is made of a combination of fruit juices—pomegranate, pineapple, and orange—along with some ginger for added flavor and sparkling apple juice for a few welcome bubbles. The filled ice cubes are optional, but they're a fun, special touch for Christmas morning.
Can you make punch the night before?
Yes! Unlike other Christmas punch recipes, this punch is perfect for making ahead—the flavor will only get better as the fresh ginger steeps in the pomegranate and pineapple juices. The key is to add your sparkling cider or seltzer the next morning so it doesn't go flat overnight. No time to make ahead? Swap the fresh ginger and cider for ginger beer to get the bubbles and big ginger flavor.
How much does Christmas punch make?
This recipe makes enough for 10 to 12 servings, which means it's perfect for Christmas parties. Even if your holiday get-together is small, make it and watch as it quickly disappears. You can easily double the recipe for larger celebrations.
Does Christmas punch have alcohol in it?
While many holiday drinks are known for being boozy like eggnog, mulled wine, and hot toddies, this punch is alcohol free. Or, try it on New Year's Day with a splash of leftover champagne from the night before—cheers!
Do juices for punch need to be fresh?
You can go for extra wow by using fresh juices in this recipe, but store-bought works great too. Be sure to look for unsweetened pomegranate juice to balance out the sweet pineapple juice and sparkling apple juice.
