How do you make avocado dip?
This is one of the easiest dips you'll ever make. Just add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. You may need to use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure every ingredient gets blended up. The best part is that it's ready in just five minutes.
What is the difference between avocado dip and guacamole?
There is a huge difference between these avocado-based dips. Avocado dips are usually completely smooth; a blended combination of avocado, dairy (sour cream or Greek yogurt), herbs, and spices. This recipe takes inspiration from green goddess chicken salad dip and uses lemon juice, basil, green onion, and garlic to infuse the smooth dip with subtle flavors. Traditionally, guacamole has a chunkier texture with a mixture of avocado, lime juice, cilantro, onion, and hot peppers. Don't forget to use ripe avocados and store them properly; this could make or break either dip!
Can you make avocado dip ahead of time?
Avocados are infamous for oxidizing (turning brown) quickly. It is best to make this dip right before serving it. However, this dip has plenty of lemon juice and will still be delicious (though a little less vibrant) for 24 hours!
What's good to eat with avocado dip?
Fresh vegetables such as carrot sticks, sliced cucumber, halved radishes, and sugar snap peas are light and fresh dippers for summer snacking. Or, if you want to go the chip route, pita chips, tortilla chips, or corn chips are scrumptious with avocado dip. You could even dunk egg rolls or empanadas in it!
