the pioneer woman's sugar cookie fudge recipe

Enjoy the taste of homemade sugar cookies without even turning on the oven thanks to this adorable sugar cookie fudge. This Christmas candy is made with sugar cookie mix—the kind you find on the baking aisle—and is chock full of crumbled sugary cookies and colorful Christmas sprinkles. There is nothing more welcome around the holiday season than an easy, no-bake dessert that can be made far in advance, and this fudge recipe is just that! Plus, it can be cut to any size, making it the perfect addition to fill out a cookie box!

What is sugar cookie fudge?

Most sugar cookie fudge recipes use the super-simple base of sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate chips, heat-treated sugar cookie mix, just a touch of butter, and plenty of sprinkles! This cookie fudge also has real crushed shortbread cookies folded in, lending a crisp texture and buttery flavor to the sweet, soft fudge.

How do you slice sugar cookie fudge?

The key to clean slices is giving the fudge enough time to solidify, at least 2 hours! Then, use a large, sharp chef’s knife, not a serrated knife, and cut down firmly. Try not to use any sawing motions, since that might make the slices uneven. For more even slices, use a ruler as a guide!

How do you store sugar cookie fudge?

Place the fudge in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Can you freeze sugar cookie fudge?

Yes, this fudge freezes very well, which means you can get ahead of your holiday treat making! Place the fudge in an airtight container and freeze for up to one month. Let it thaw at room temperature before enjoying.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups

    sugar cookie mix

  • Cooking spray

  • 1

    (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 1/4 cups

    white chocolate chips

  • 2 Tbsp.

    unsalted butter

  • 1/4 tsp.

    kosher salt

  • 1 1/2 cups

crushed sugar or shortbread cookies (4-oz.)

  • 1/2 cup

    confetti sprinkles, divided

  • 2 tsp.

    vanilla extract

Directions

    1. Step 1In a large microwave-safe bowl, add the sugar cookie mix. Microwave on high in 30 second intervals, until a digital thermometer inserted into the flour reads 180˚F, about 1 to 2 minutes (check the temperature in multiple spots to get an accurate read). Stir well, then let cool completely. Remove any small clumps.
    2. Step 2Line a 9-inch square baking dish with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
    3. Step 3In a medium saucepan, heat the sweetened condensed milk over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent scorching, until hot. Add the white chocolate chips and stir until melted, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the cookie mix, butter, and salt until smooth; remove the mixture from the heat. Fold in the cookies, ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons of sprinkles, and vanilla.
    4. Step 4Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Top with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sprinkles and allow it to set up completely in the refrigerator before slicing, at least 2 hours.

Tip: Change up the holiday with different colored sprinkles so that everybody can enjoy sugar cookie fudge year-round!
