If you think you love margaritas now, just wait until you try this glorious fall rendition. Like every good margarita recipe, this one has tequila (I use silver), orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec), and some fresh citrus juice. What makes this margarita stand apart, my dear friends, is the scrumptious apple cider. It's worth hunting some down since it's the obvious star of this apple cider cocktail. I also add a good splash of soda water for a little fizz. I love this fall cocktail because it isn't overly sweet and syrupy. It's light and refreshing! Shake one up in a cocktail shaker or just a mason jar. Is it five o'clock yet?
What's the difference between apple cider and apple juice?
Here's the breakdown of apple cider versus apple juice for the uninitiated: Apple cider is the fresh, unsweetened, unfiltered liquid extracted from pressed apples. Apple juice is also made from the liquid extracted from pressed apples, but it is filtered, pasteurized, and often sweetened. If you're in a pinch, you can use apple juice instead of cider in this recipe, but know that your cocktail will probably end up being a little sweeter.
Can you make multiple apple cider margaritas at once?
Sure, as long as your cocktail shaker or jar is large enough! You'll be fine doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling this cocktail recipe, but if your shaker is on the smaller side, it might be a better idea to shake up one at a time. It's easy either way. You'll already have the ingredients out, so just keep measuring and shaking until everyone's glass is filled.
