It may be called "spooky season," but that doesn't mean your Halloween costume has to be! If you're more about glitz and glam than gore and guts, why not take a cue from Regency-era London with an elegant Bridgerton Halloween costume? Since its debut in 2020, the hit Netflix series has introduced fans to a wealth of extravagant ensembles and tantalizing plot twists to emulate this Halloween! With the premiere of season 3 earlier this year, there's no better time to shoot for "Diamond of the Season" status.
From Daphne and Simon in season 1 to Penelope and Colin in season 3, there are so many star-crossed lovers to pull inspiration for your costume. Show off Penelope's new signature color with a sea foam blue gown and a feathered quill in hand. Or, channel another powerful female icon from the show, like Queen Charlotte or Eloise, that you can dress up as with a swan-shaped wig or clip-on bangs. Whether you fancy yourself a Pen or Lady Whistledown, read on to discover how to bring the romance, intrigue, and undeniable style of the TV show to life with the best Bridgerton Halloween costumes!
Daphne Costume
The latest season may have centered a different Bridgerton, but dressing as Daphne is timeless! To emulate the style of the Bridgerton who started it all, go for her iconic blue lace gown with some long white gloves. Pair it with a feather fan like the one she dropped to get the Duke's attention and a dainty diamond necklace for the full Daphne effect!
Kate Costume
The second season of Bridgerton focuses on Kate Sharma, who finds herself in a forbidden love story of sorts. Throughout the season, Kate wears a jewel-toned color palette with lots of rich teals, purples, and pinks. To steal her stunning style, go for a satin, teal empire waist gown with matching satin gloves. While her wardrobe contains mostly European-style clothing, in some scenes, Kate and her family can be seen wearing drawstring purses that resemble potli bags, a traditional Indian handbag. To finish off the costume, go for a dainty teal necklace for a monochromatic look.
Anthony Costume
Every Kate needs her Anthony (or at least someone dressed like him). Luckily, it's so easy to recreate his dapper style with a few key pieces. As the oldest Bridgerton child, Anthony almost always looks put together in black trousers, a billowing white shirt, and perfectly-groomed hair. The piece that'll tie the whole look together is a long, blue Victorian coat like the one he's pictured in above.
Eloise Costume
To dress up as the resident bookworm of the Bridgerton family, start with a blue shift dress with a faux ruffled collared. Whether it's a ruffled collar or a big bow, Eloise more often than not has some sort of high neck dress on. Pair it with a darker blue capelet and some clip on bangs to fully emulate Eloise. For the finishing touch, make sure to have a book in hand in true Eloise fashion!
Penelope Costume
In the first two seasons of Bridgerton, Penelope almost exclusively wore shades of bright yellow and pink. That all changed when she took matters into her own hands in Season 3 and claimed that she did not "wish to see a citrus color ever again!" The new and improved Pen wears stunning blue and green Regency-style gowns with beaded embellishments. Pair your empire waist dress with tulle gloves, a shimmering crystal necklace and earrings, and of course, a feather pen! After all, you're going to need something to record all of the Halloween gossip with.
Colin Costume
Channel 'Casual Colin' with a puff sleeve shirt, embroidered vest, slacks, and boots. When he's not dressed in a dapper suit and freshly pressed collared shirt, the nomadic playboy-turned-lover-boy wears looser button-down shirts (don't forget to pop the collar) with some sort of layer on top, like a dark vest or brown suede jacket. Finish the look with some thick faux sideburns, a signature of the Bridgerton bachelors.
Queen Charlotte Costume
Living up to Queen Charlotte is an intimidating feat, but it's certainly accomplishable—at least with the right accessories! Throughout her tenure as England's head monarch, Charlotte's style has developed from 'new queen' to 'queen bee,' with wigs that grow taller and dresses that get grander each year. To emulate her signature royal look, you'll need a Rococo-style gown rather than the Regency-era gowns the other characters wear. Pair your gilded gown with a sky-high wig, complete with a sparkly crown. Layer on the diamonds and gold, and don't forget the most important accessory of all: a beloved Pomeranian (plush)!
