Call me crazy, but I really do think this is the perfect gift for so many occasions when you can’t figure out what to get someone. A perfectly white porcelain cow creamer: it doesn’t get any more whimsical, kitschy, fun, sweet, or shiny than that.

I actually have three myself (you can see that this one is slightly different than the one above)–I bought one myself years and years ago and I’ve been given a couple as gifts here and there. What I love about them is that they look instantly at home on any shelf; they go with everything and automatically inject a warm sense of home.

Yes, I love cow creamers. Why do you ask?

Here’s what I think I love the most.

Cow creamers make absolutely zero logical sense. Really, there should be some sort of lever release that allows the cream to pour out of the teats instead.

Okay, I’m overthinking things.

In any case, give a cow creamer for the next wedding shower, birthday party, or housewarming gift! You can grab one for under $10, then wrap it in special tissue and put it in a box with a pretty bow. It’ll look like a sweet little treasure.

Here’s a list of different manufacturers; you can see how much the prices range. This probably relates to how “fine” the porcelain is considered to be, but I’m hard pressed to tell the difference between them all.

BIA Cordon Bleu: $10
Apilco: $28
Pier 1 Imports: $5 (El Cheapo!)
Amazon: $7.87

Moo.
