How to Refresh Your Closet in 10 Fun Ways for Spring
Time for florals, lightweight jackets, and pretty blouses!
Spring is finally here! It makes you want to get outside and enjoy that warm weather as much as possible. But first things first: You've got some sprucing up to do. There's the obvious spring cleaning like decluttering and washing away all the muck from winter. And then there's the arguably more important swapping out your wardrobe, making way for all those pretty floral dresses and lightweight jean jackets.
But while you're refreshing your home, why not update your actual closet while you're at it? Upgrading the look and feel of your space will help you not only organize your closet but make you excited to wake up every morning to look your best. Not sure exactly what that means? Try these ten fun ideas for a spring closet refresh with everything from pretty wallpaper to put in you a good mood to sachets for a soothing scent.
Once you're done upgrading your space, do take some time to edit what you're putting in there. Parting with clothes is easier than you think. Becky Marple, owner of the Oklahoma City-based organizing company BeeNeat, has some tips. First, a good rule for closet maintenance: If you haven't worn something in a year, you should get rid of it. Second, recruit a friend or family member to hold you accountable as you sort. And lastly, schedule a pickup. Having a strict deadline is highly motivating, and you'll feel better that things are going to a good cause!
Now get in mood to redecorate:
