Anyone down for a trip to Serenity, South Carolina? While the fictional town in Sweet Magnolias may not exist in real life, it sure does on Netflix. And now, the streaming service has confirmed that season 4 is set to premiere in February. This means that an entirely new slate of southern charm, friendship, light drama, and of course, plenty of margaritas, will be served soon enough.
It's about time! Season 3 aired all the way back in July 2023, so fans are expectedly growing restless. It also doesn't help that many of the beloved characters from the show have some questions that need answers.
Now everyone is wondering the same thing: What will happen in Sweet Magnolias season 4? And when will it premiere? Read on for everything we know about the future of the show!
When Will Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias Premiere?
Get ready to pour it out! According to Netflix, season 4 of Sweet Magnolias will premiere on February 6, 2025. So, get your drink pitchers ready for that long awaited Thursday.
It will be worth the wait, though! We know the cast and crew of Sweet Magnolias officially wrapped up filming season 4 back on June 1. This was confirmed when the show's official Instagram account made a sweet post regarding the news.
"As of this morning, at 3:33am, Sweet Magnolias Season 4 has wrapped filming," the caption read. "This season is filled with love, laughter, tears, thrills, and many, many margaritas. Congratulations to our writers, cast, crew, producers, executives, and everyone who touched this show. We can't wait to pour it out with all of you!"
Aw, now that's just sweet.
Actress JoAnna Garcia Swisher (who plays Maddie Townsend) also posted a little something to commemorate the milestone with a gleeful selfie alongside her costars Brooke Elliott (who plays Dana Sue) and Heather Headley (who plays Helen Decatur).
"That’s a wrap on Season 4!" Garcia Swisher captioned the post. "I cannot wait for you all to see what we have been up to in Serenity. It’s been a magical season…for reasons I cannot wait to share..."
That said, fans can rest assure that it will be a magical season indeed!
What Will Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias Be About?
According to an interview with Tudum, showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson says that fans can expect "the twists and turns of romance, the complexity of friendship, the surprises that pop up in life, and how all these things make us more grateful for the people who love us, the people who fight for — and with — us, and the people who can make us laugh, whatever we’re going through.”
Okay, this pretty much sounds like things will be picking up right where it left off. If you remember, there were *so* many loose ends in regards to the many different romances. (Talk about messy!) Not to mention the secrets being kept! (Is anyone going to tell Bill that he's Isaac's real dad?) Plus, this last season was the first time the three leading ladies—Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen—were at odds with one another. So, it's great to hear that this will all be explored in the coming season!
And here's some more sweet (or should we say merry?) news regarding season 4. Netflix also announced that fans will receive a "Christmas treat" in the form of two new cast songs. Tony-winner Heather Headley’s rendition of "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and Dylan Rysstad’s new original song "Margarita Christmas," will both be featured in season 4 of Sweet Magnolias. Additionally, you can stream the tunes on Spotify ahead of the premiere!
