The first season of Special Ops: Lioness centered around the CIA's Lioness Program, a subgroup in the government agency made up entirely of women. We watched as Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a young gal with a stern personality, is recruited to the team. They aim to take down a terrorist organization by using their skills and resources.

Will there be a season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness?
Yep! Variety recently reported that Special Ops: Lioness was in fact renewed for season 2. 🙌
“Our Paramount+ audience resoundingly has joined forces in support of ‘Lioness’’ gripping, global story and the powerhouse performances from Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira and Nicole Kidman,” said Jeff Grossman, executive VP of programming of Paramount+. “We cannot wait to see more of the heart-stopping suspense and action that Taylor Sheridan and the incredibly talented team deliver in its second season.”
That's not all. It was also reported that a majority of the cast will be returning! And, Morgan Freeman is said to become a series regular. Yes, that means his iconic celebrity voice will be around for a lot more episodes in the coming season.
When will Special Ops: Lioness season 2 premiere?
As of right now, there is no confirmed premiere date for the series. However, Nicole Kidman recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself and Taylor Sheridan with what appears to be both of them on set. The photo shows Kidman in a light blue suit with a cowboy hat on and Sheridan smiling at her off to the side.
"Best cowboy hat ever… Thanks #TaylorSheridan & #Lioness. Season 2 is in full force xx" she captioned the post.
What will Special Ops: Lioness season 2 be about?
The plot is not yet confirmed! However, in an interview with Deadline published in November 2023, actress Laysla De Oliveira touched on the season 1 finale, and the future of her character, Cruz.
For those who remember, the season finale saw Cruz kill the father of her love interest, which eventually made her want to quit the Lioness program altogether. When confronted with this fact, Laysla had this to say: "Yeah, she technically quit the whole damn thing. So I guess we’ll see where that goes. I don’t know if she could stay away forever. These are Taylor Sheridan questions. I wish I could just open his mind up and get all the answers."
