Twisters took the country by storm... literally!
The disaster thriller, which is a standalone sequel to the 1996 hit Twister, quickly became a blockbuster of its own. The film blew audiences away during its debut, grossing $81.25 million for the third best opening of the year in North America. Not to mention, that's the largest opening weekend ever for a disaster movie (in unadjusted terms).
The film stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos as storm chasers and meteorologists who are working desperately to figure out a way to tame a devastating tornado outbreak in Oklahoma.
