Sick of the sweltering summer yet? Looking forward to those cooler days in fall when you can sip on your pumpkin spice latte and pick apples in a cozy sweater? Well, for a chunk of the country, you might have to wait a little longer than usual this year.

The trusty Old Farmer's Almanac just released their weather predictions for fall 2025 and most of country can expect "warmer-than-normal autumn this year." So, those seasonal fall recipes might just have to wait a bit.

Now, the United States is a large country, so it's safe to assume that not everyone will have to keep their summer wardrobes in their closet. And that's just what the Almanac is confirming! Some regions will have cooler weather and most regions will have dry conditions regardless of the temperature ranges. Let's take a closer look.

The Old Farmer's Almanac

According to the Almanac and their handy dandy map, much of the West is affected by the warming trend. This includes Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and Southwest, the Intermountain, High Plains, Heartland regions, and Texas and Oklahoma. Lower Eastern states are also affected, including the Atlantic Corridor, Southeast, Deep South, and Florida. Unfortunately, that also means hurricane season could have above-normal activity.

If you want to cool off this fall, here are the regions to visit: the Northeast, Appalachians, the Lower Lakes and Ohio Valley, the Upper Midwest or head to some normally hot spots like the Desert Southwest and Hawaii. The good news? "The cool temperatures and below-average rainfalls could translate to some pretty foliage in the Northeastern region." Leaf peepers, rejoice!

Of course, the weather can always be unpredictable so we'll just have to wait and see what happens! But the Old Farmer's Almanac claims an 80% accuracy rate and they've been around since 1792 so they know a thing or two to say the least. Look on the bright side: At least you'll get more time by the pool while you wait for sweater weather! 😂
