• Home Depot's new Halloween launch stars a seven foot Skelly Dog with animated LCD eyes.

Halloween lovers, go ahead and drag the decor bins out of the attic a little early!

Home Depot quietly opened its crypt this week and the undeniable star of 2025 is a seven-foot skeleton dog that looks equal parts loyal and downright eerie. Nose to tail, the bony good boy stretches longer than most sofas. His LCD "LifeEyes" cycle through eight different looks—glowing blue one minute and fiery red the next—all while a hinged jaw lets you set a happy pant or a full-on snarl. He's built from sturdy poly-resin and rings up at $199, which feels pretty reasonable for something that can ward off zombies and scare trick-or-treaters for years to come.

Of course, this dog is really just the sidekick for Skelly, the viral 12-foot skeleton that has been turning quiet cul-de-sacs into roadside attractions since 2020. Skelly is back at the original $299 price with refreshed LCD eyes and his famously poseable arms, ready to hoist pumpkins, candy bowls, or maybe even the leash of his gigantic pup.

Hardcore Halloween lovers can round out the pack with two more companions: a five-foot sitting dog with the same blinking eyes in a slightly more compact pose and a crouching five-foot cat whose orange LEDs glow like a jack-o'-lantern at dusk. (Either would be perfect for guarding the candy bowl or spooking the living family pet!) Every figure shares the same neutral bone finish, so they look like they wandered straight out of the same graveyard set.

Everything in the Grave and Bones lineup is available online right now, which history says will not be the case for long. Last year Skelly sold out before fall even began and resale prices climbed faster than a witch on a broomstick. The chain has capped purchases at one of each figure to keep things fair, so shoppers hoping to build a full boneyard will need to act fast before Skelly and his four-legged friends vanish into thin air until next fall.

Is it still only August? Sure. But planning your Halloween decorations early means skipping the October frenzy and giving the neighborhood plenty of time to admire an enormous skeletal dog guarding the front yard. Consider it a head start on the most wonderful fright of the year!
