That being said, now more than ever is a great time to get a head start on the spooky season by diving right into some scary flicks. Lucky for all the horror film fanatics out there, there's a bunch of new options being released in 2024. Keep reading for a list of the best ones to look out for!

Plot: A mother and her twin sons have only ever known fear their whole lives, as they've been stalked and tormented by spirits with bad intentions. Though, kids will be kids, and so it's only a matter of time before one of them begins to disobey the "family rules" and ventures off on his own. The family soon faces the consequences and must devise a plan on how to ward off the spirit once and for all.
Hold Your Breath

Plot: You'll be whisked away to 1930s Oklahoma for this film featuring Sarah Paulson as grieving mother Margaret who takes extreme measures to protect her daughters amid horrific dust storms. Soon, her dedication turns sinister as she becomes convinced that a dark presence is threatening her family.
Joker: Folie à Deux

Plot: Joaquin Phoenix is back again, portraying a different side of the infamous DC villain: The Joker. This time around, you watch him as he's introduced to another iconic DC name: Harley Quinn. It's romantic, sure, but also very twisted... as expected.

Plot: If you saw the first film in the franchise, you know that there's nothing to actually be smiling about in this plot. The second movie focuses on a pop singer who is gearing up for her next world tour. She wants to focus on getting everything ready, but some weird and unexplainable things begin happening around her.
Nosferatu

Plot: A remake of the 1922 film based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, this gothic tale follows a haunted young woman in 19th-century Germany who is being stalked by an ancient Transylvanian vampire. Count Orlok's eerie infatuation with the girl causes untold horror to unfold.
