You can read more about it here, but as I explained a few weeks ago, Marlboro Man and I have had a running competition over whose bathroom (the Girls’ or the Boys’) is better. Everything from the floor choice to the tile pattern to the wall color to the shape of the sink, we’ve both been firmly, stubbornly convinced that our respective bathrooms are most certainly superior to the other.

Even up until the end, right before the office warming party last Thursday, when Marlboro Man and I took each other on a walk-through of both bathrooms, our barbs were flying:

“Oh, man. There’s no question that mine is better.”

“Your bathroom sure looks nice. Of course, it isn’t quite as nice as mine.”

“Oh, this charcoal was definitely the best wall color choice, don’t you think?”

“It sure is a good thing I picked the best floor tile, isn’t it?”

(We never stop.)

Now that the bathrooms are finished, I thought I’d show them both to you so you could see which one you like best!

I’m pretty sure you’re going to like mine better.

I mean, I’m almost 100% convinced you’re going to like mine better.

I mean, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO like mine better, or I will never hear the end of it from that guy I’m married to.

(But if you like his better, that’s totally fine.)

(Ha.)

Here’s another peek at mine. Classic white tile floors, white subway tile walls in a classic brick pattern, stained doors and vanity, white marble top, plain black metal mirrors. (Imagine my PVC pipe under the sink painted black [see above]; this photo was taken before that was done.)

Here’s another peek at Marlboro Man’s. Natural gray tile floors, white subway tile walls in a geometric pattern, stained doors and vanity, concrete countertop, decorative mirrors.

Marlboro Man’s doors. Transom windows above. Sconce between. He just has two doors/stalls, along with two (I can’t say it…I can’t say it…I can’t say it…) urinals.

I just said it.

My stalls. For the non-tiled walls in my bathroom, I chose a dark charcoal texture.

Marlboro Man’s stalls. For the non-tiled walls in his bathroom, he chose a neutral texture (the same color that’s out in the rest of the office.)

You can see the color more here. And I seriously can’t believe I just posted a picture of urinals on my website.

What is the world coming to?

Here was a surprising little moment: My mother-in-law ran to the city a couple of days before our office warming party because we were missing a few items, one of which were mirrors for the bathrooms. She bought these more ornate ones for the girls’ bathroom, and two plain black ones for the boys’ bathrooms.

That evening, after I finished shooting at the Lodge and we all met in at the Lodge to work on things, Marlboro Man looked at the mirrors and chose the more ornate ones for the boys’ bathroom.

My mother-in-law looked at each other and said, “Huh?”

But actually…I think they look really great in there! They add a little bit of flair, and they actually look a little old/western.

That man of mine…he’s full of surprises.

But his mirrors definitely aren’t as cool as mine! Please don’t forget that!

The Boys’ Bathroom.

You’ve been through this journey with us, so please share: Which one do you like better?

Our marriage hinges on how you answer.

Just kidding.

But really…which one do you like better?

My very happiness depends on your response.

Just kidding.

But really…which one do you like better?

Absolutely no pressure, of course…
