There's something so magical about transforming your home to match the seasons outside—especially when it comes to fall! Between pumpkin décor, warm throw blankets, fall candles, DIY wreaths, and so many other fall decoration ideas, your home just becomes the coziest version of itself. And what's not to love about that?
So you can imagine how excited we were to open Instagram and see Alex Drummond's post about decorating for fall! After all, we take inspo from her for nearly everything! Whether it's her favorite mascara, how to make the cutest charcuterie cups, or where to eat in Colorado, we know we can look to her for ideas. And that's exactly what we're doing now that fall has officially arrived at her and Mauricio’s house in Dallas!
If you also have the irresistible urge to bring seasonal ambience to your home, take a cue from Alex and start with your porch! Not only is it an easy space to spruce up, but it also makes your home so much more inviting as the holiday seasons begins. Just check out all the cozy curb appeal that comes with Alex's farmhouse-inspired fall setup. There's fall flowers, plenty of pumpkins, and even a patterned doormat to really pull everything together.
To help you adorn your home in a similar style, we've found outdoor fall decorations that are a pretty close match to the items seen in Alex's photo—George the golden floof not included... unfortunately. 😆
To start off, create a focal point by hanging a seasonal wreath. This is one of the simplest ways to decorate the front of your home and catch the eye of neighbors and guests alike! Although Alex's exact goldenrod wreath is sold out, similar fall grasses like wheat and pampas also make for a great autumnal accent. Next, grab several faux pumpkins in a variety of colors to scatter around your door or front steps. It doesn't get much more fall than that! Along with mini orange and white gourds, Alex also incorporated the most charming wicker-like pumpkins that work well as a seasonal statement piece. She even took a step in the festive direction by buying a few mini jack-o'-lanterns as well.
After you've placed your pumpkins, bring in the colors of the season by planting bright and bold chrysanthemums. Think: pretty pots or right in your flowerbeds! No matter where you place them, the golden coloration is just perfect for fall. Then, to finish off your front porch, you'll want to fill the space with a doormat. Here, Alex has placed a small doormat atop a striped outdoor rug for a chic layered look that makes all the difference. While she stuck with a doormat that can be used through the year, you could also play around with a more seasonal pick. There are just so many options!
So if you haven't already, this is your cue to get to decorating! Happy fall, y'all!
