It's Christmastime at Alex Drummond's home!
Okay, maybe not yet. After all, we still have Thanksgiving to get through. But that doesn't mean the decorations can't go up! Because really, when to decorate for Christmas is entirely up to you and what makes you happiest—and Christmas makes the Drummonds really happy.
With the sweetest Christmas traditions, like gathering with family for a scrumptious Christmas dinner, wearing matching Christmas pajamas, and going all out with Christmas decorations, we don't blame Alex for jumping right into the most wonderful time of the year. Luckily, she's spreading the joy with us by giving a sneak peek of her festive décor for the season—and we're spreading that joy even further by finding similar items for you to decorate your home with! And as Alex says, we're "ignoring the fact that it was 83 degrees today." At least it was at her home in Dallas! 😂
Recreate Alex's Christmas Tree
Alex's Christmas tree is clearly the star of the show—and we're not just saying that because of the beautiful gold star on top. There's ornaments, ribbon, bows, and festive filler branches galore! Last year, Alex said her goal was to "level up my tree game," and she's definitely done that and more.
To decorate your tree similarly, stick to a traditional color scheme of reds, greens, and golds with classic round ornaments in varying sizes and matching gold ribbon strung throughout. Then, fill the space by placing decorative gold berry branches and pretty poinsettias between the ornaments. We also love the big red bows Alex added to her tree this year! Don't they just tie all the trimmings together? 😍 To top everything off, just put a shining star at the top.
Recreate Alex's Living Room Christmas Décor
Along with the big and beautiful tree standing proudly in the corner of Alex's living room, she also decorated with a whole slew of other festive necessities. Her mantel is decorated in a beautifully minimalistic manner, with a strand of garland along the top next to the cutest Santa and snowman shelf sitters. As for stockings, she's chosen simple designs in classic red, white, and green Christmas colors: one for her, Mauricio, and, of course, sweet George!
We also have to point out how cozy Alex's space looks with those throw pillows sitting on the chairs! Doubling up on the decorative pillows in a mix of patterns and colors gives an inviting look that's all too welcome in the winter when all you really want to do is curl up by the fireplace. Alex chose a red and white plaid pillow for the bigger base, then layered a smaller white pillow with a simple tree design on top.
For tabletop décor, Alex kept things simple yet still so seasonal by placing miniature glass Christmas trees around the room. She's even displayed a beautiful golden deer on her sidetable. And we can't forget the gorgeous nativity set and Christmas village she has lining the top of her sideboard. You can also add a festive touch to your walls by hanging miniature Christmas wreaths. Alex has hung four—two on either side of her doors, and we just love the way they complete the Christmassy atmosphere.
We've found items just like hers that you can add to your Christmas collection, so be sure to browse them below! Deck the halls, indeed!
