"Are you in the path of totality?" That's the question that most people in North America had been asking each other ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse!

As it turns out, Dallas, Texas was in fact in the path of totality, which just so happens to be where Alex Drummond and husband Mauricio live. So, as you can expect, the couple obviously had to host their own mini eclipse viewing party—and they did so right in their own backyard.

Luckily for everyone not in Dallas, Alex documented the whole thing on her Instagram stories!

She kicked off her viewing party coverage with a snap of their gleeful furbaby, George wearing his own set of eclipse-proof glasses.

"George is ready," Alex wrote over the post.

Right after that, Alex posted a photo of her and Mauricio sprawled across their lawn as they stared up at the sky (with their special glasses, of course). Next to them was George smiling at the camera—because he's apparently always camera ready.

"Eclipse 2K24 😎" Alex said.

But wait a minute... if Alex, Mauricio, and George were all in the photo, then who took the photo to begin with? 🤔

That question was answered in the next story Alex posted. Joining them in the experience was another very special guest... Paige! That's right, it was a viewing party of four after all.

Once the crew was seemingly all settled, the only other thing to do was watch and wait.

A short while later, Alex posted an update at what her surroundings in Dallas looked like, and it's safe to say that it was out of this world.

In a video clip, Alex quickly panned her camera around, first showing a glimpse at Paige and Mauricio, and then eventually the eclipse itself in the sky.

"THAT WAS SO COOL" Alex wrote in all caps, emphasizing her amazement.

Her followers could instantly see the difference between the sunny and bright lighting in her initial posts to the much darker setting in the new video—and it truly was captivating even from a phone screen!

Alex posted an even sharper video of the eclipse after that, and you can really see how the moon blocks the sun in this awe-inspiring event.

Okay, yeah, it's safe to say this crew had one heck of a view.

Alex ended her Instagram story by letting everyone know what George thought of the whole thing, and it was pretty darn hilarious.

"George is confused," Alex captioned a photo of the pup just sitting there, looking somewhat unfazed.

Well, there you have it! Alex and the crew had a pretty spectacular view. Now, we want to know: Where were you during the eclipse? Let us know in the comments!
