Contrary to what you might think, being a Drummond dog isn't all rainbows and butterflies (or, in their case, treats and rubs)! Unlike Alex's golden child, George, Ree Drummond's ranch dogs can often be found around their sprawling property helping herd cows, hitching rides in the back of pickup trucks, and napping in flower beds.

But sometimes, Ree's ranch dogs do get to live the lap dog life—whether she likes it or not. Ree's recent Instagram stories of beloved basset hound brothers Rusty and Fred are proof!

The Pioneer Woman took to Instagram to expose her dirty dogs red-handed (or rather, red-pawed) on her brand-new furniture! In the first photo on her story, we can see our favorite cowgirl, Paige, sprawled on the couch with the floppy-eared hounds strewn across her lap.

"Rule breakers," Ree captioned the photo with three arrows pointing at Paige and the two pups. From what we can tell, it looks like the trio of ranch helpers went straight from the Drummond ranch to the salmon-colored couch in Ree's office, muddy paws and all. With those adorable puppy dog eyes, how could you blame them?

The next photo features the hounds and Paige in the same position, reiterating their rebelliousness. "YES YOU," Ree wrote on the following pic. The hilarious snap features a sheepish Paige covering her face with a cowboy hat and the dogs looking straight at the camera with an innocent tilt of the head.

You know what they say: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! 😂
