Ree Drummond's kids have been unofficial taste-testers as long as she can remember.

And even though they've all moved out of the house, they still come back for The Pioneer Woman's home-cooked meals. The kids (and bonus kids) each have their favorites. Alex is a fan of Cajun chicken pasta, Todd loves his mom's chocolate sheet cake, and Jamar is partial to steak and eggs. Most recently, Ree shared one of her son-in-law Mauricio's favorite recipes—and it will make your mouth water!

The Instagram post revealed Ree using her brand-new Pioneer Woman Speckle Linen Slow Cooker to make what looked like a scrumptious piece of meat. But it was, in fact, the start of Mauricio's favorite sandwich: Drip Beef.

"If you don't know why it's called Drip Beef, just watch the part where the sandwich is assembled 😳," she said. "Truly delicious, eight hours in the slow cooker, it's Mauricio's favorite sandwich!"

The slow cooker drip beef recipe starts off with beef chuck roast, salt, pepper, and fresh rosemary. Then, the pepperoncini, broth, and optional garlic get tossed into it. After cooking low and slow in the handy kitchen appliance, the meat is fall-apart tender and ready for shredding! All that's left to do is pile it on some buttered, toasted hoagie rolls, then layer with provolone cheese and give is a quick broil so it's melty and gooey. Ree finishes the sandwich with some extra peppers, but here's the most important part: Don't toss the cooking liquid.

That flavorful juice is meant for dipping, and it results in a very messy, drippy, yet glorious creation. And that's exactly why it's called Drip Beef.

"Best sandwich in the entire world!!! 🙈 🤩 😍," Mauricio commented on the post.

Looks like the perfect way to kick off football season, too—try it for yourself!
