The first day of spring is so close, whether it feels that way or not. With the promise of warmer weather comes the urge to buy new clothes in anticipation of the new season. Or at least, it does for Alex Drummond! And now that she's buying for two with arrival of baby Sofia, you could say it's double the urge this year.
Thankfully, her favorite brand Hill House Home just released a new spring collection just as she felt the need to scratch that shopping itch. While she's always been a fan of their popular pajamas and robes, it's their dresses that she's excited about for the warmer weather. "I cannot wait to wear these this spring and summer," Alex explains her recent Instagram story.
Her first pick was the bestselling Ellie Nap Dress in Sky Bluebonnet, with a cozy smocked bodice, midi length skirt, and ruffled shoulders. "But y'all are not ready for this," she warns as she holds up Sofia's matching baby version, complete with bloomers. "Look at this freaking cuteness." Honestly, the only thing that'll make it cuter is when she's in it this summer!
Did you think that's the only matching set Alex purchased? Not so fast! She also bought coordinating dresses with sleeves for spring. The Scarlett Nap Dress in Pink Bluebonnet features a longer slim skirt of maxi length, trendy puff sleeves, and charming lace detailing at the neckline, Alex calls this one "really pretty."
She actually bought Sofia's matching version a little larger in a size 12 to 18 months so she'll have to wait a bit to grow into it, but it will be worth the wait! "We will have matching looks for years to come," explains Alex, adding, "I'm definitely that mom that's matching." Thankfully, these comfy cotton dresses are designed to wear all day long.
Now's the hardest part: waiting for the weather to get warm enough to see the coordinating mom/daughter duo in action. Hopefully that will happen sooner than later. And in the meantime, you can get some shopping done, too. See all of Alex and Sofia's picks below!
