The Pioneer Woman has been known for some very popular recipes over the years. Just to name a few that her longtime fans have bookmarked: her Thanksgiving turkey brine, her famous cinnamon rolls, her family-friendly chicken spaghetti, and her make-ahead mashed potatoes.

But of course, not every recipe can be a winner, right? Sometimes an attempt at something flops big time, even for someone like Ree Drummond. In the recent issue of The Pioneer Woman magazine, Ree fessed up to the one dish she made and then said, "Never again!" And after you read this confession, you'll know why you won't find it on her site.

The story goes like this: "I once made green tea ice cream for a ladies' investment-club meeting back in the old days. Instead of using matcha or green tea powder, I actually bought green tea bags, ground the tea in the food processor and then used that in the ice cream base." Sounds impressive, right?

Ree’s green tea ice cream didn’t look anything like this!

Long story short, it wasn't impressive at all. "It wasn't necessarily a disaster, but it looked like mossy green sludge and I still served it because I had all my hopes pinned on this ice cream," she continues. Not surprisingly, "there were about 23 bowls, and no one ate any of it." Womp, womp!

The moral of this particular story: "I buy my green tea ice cream now!" as she says. But as you can tell by the hundreds of fan-favorite recipes, a mossy green mess didn't deter the Pioneer Woman from churning out other frozen desserts with great success. Just don't expect a green tea ice cream recipe anytime soon. 😂

By the way, if you have a question for Ree, go ahead and ask it here. You might appear in an upcoming issue of the magazine and get another hilarious story out of her!
