If you've ever tried to travel with a baby, you know the real MVPs of the trip are the items that help everyone get some sleep. Alex Drummond just shared one of hers—and it's something every new mom might want to know about.
During her Easter weekend road trip to the ranch, Alex gave followers a behind-the-scenes look at the gear that's making life on the go a little easier these days. Enter: the SlumberPod, a blackout sleep tent that fits right over baby Sofia's Pack 'n Play. "This thing is such a lifesaver for traveling with a baby," Alex wrote on Instagram. "We just put it over her Pack 'n Play and throw the sound machine, monitor, and fan in there and it's like her own little room." This portable setup allows the adults in the room to have the lights on or watch TV without having to worry about waking her. "I swear she sleeps better in this thing than at home," Alex said. We believe it!
Alex, Mauricio, and Sofia (plus, George!) made the five-hour drive from Dallas to Pawhuska for Easter, and the SlumberPod made the trip a whole lot smoother. With family events, a big Easter meal, and plenty of people eager for baby snuggles, Sofia was going to need all the naps she could get—and this pod delivered! The whole thing folds down into a small travel bag that fits easily in a carry-on or can be thrown in the trunk. It weighs less than five pounds, which means even if you're juggling a baby, a diaper bag, and your third cup of coffee, you can still manage it one-handed.
Whether you're heading across the country or just visiting Grandma's house, this little tent might be the one thing that keeps everyone well-rested. (Well, as rested as parents of a baby can hope to be!)
