In case you missed it, The Pioneer Woman had a pretty eventful Easter weekend. Featuring new family members like baby Sofia and Paige's fiancée, David, plus an epic egg hunt and a very large stuffed bunny, the holiday was full of family, fun, and of course, food.
Ree admitted that her family decided to forgo the traditional Easter spread in favor of simpler fare this year: "By Saturday, we'd waved the white flag and all voted for biscuits and gravy, which proved to be a winning game-time decision." Indeed! There's nothing quite like grandma-style comfort food to cap off a perfect family holiday.
Now, while there's little debate on how delicious the combo is, there is a disagreement on the proper assembly in the Drummond family. To showcase the vast differences among her family members, Ree shared a new video: "Okay, forget the Enneagram, forget astrology. This is all you need to know about a person: It's how they build their biscuits and gravy."
There are no fewer than eight (!) methods shown in the video, so now you need to decide: Which method is correct?
- Ladd's method: Tear up the biscuits and layer gravy on top with sausage on the side.
- Ree's brother-in-law Tim's and Woody Harrelson's (aka Bryce) method: Open the biscuits, layer gravy on top, sausage on the side.
- Future son-in-law David's "efficient" method: Open the biscuits, tear up the sausage to put on top, then layer gravy over the whole thing.
- Nephew Caleb's method: Open the biscuits, layer gravy, no sausage, lots of pepper.
- Paige's "diabolical" method: Layer gravy over whole biscuits with sausage on the side.
- Son-in-law Mauricio's method: Make sure there's a minimum of 17 biscuits.
- Niece Halle's method: Whole biscuits with sausage on the side, no gravy.
- Todd's method: Whole biscuits with sausage on the side, gravy on the side for dipping.
And Ree's method? Well, it's similar to Tim and Bryce, but she insists: "I'm the only normal one." Of course, there's also room to experiment and try different techniques as you see fit, as showcased by Ladd trying David's method for his second helping. (No word on if Bryce switched out anything by his fourth plate!)
So there you have it: The Big Drummond Easter Debate of 2025 that seems to have no resolution as of yet. After reviewing the footage, have you made up your mind which way is best? Maybe you should whip up a batch this weekend and test every method... you know, for the sake of food science or whatever. 😉
