Four years ago, Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott exchanged vows in a dreamy ceremony at the Drummond family ranch. Now, Alex is reflecting on how their marriage has evolved—especially since becoming parents to their adorable daughter, Sofia. Alex marked their anniversary on Instagram with a handful of sweet throwback photos from their picture-perfect wedding day, bringing back all the happy memories from their big celebration.
"4 years 🤍," Alex captioned her post. "There's so much I could say about this year….it's been a big one with lots of change! But I feel more confident than ever that I have the best person by my side to take on life with, holding hands and laughing through it all. Just before their anniversary, Alex hosted a Q&A on Instagram and was asked by followers how parenthood has influenced her marriage. She responded honestly about the big adjustments she and Mauricio have faced since becoming a mom and dad. "There's no denying that it's a massive change... so much more to balance and it's way harder to make time for each other," she shared.
But even with all the new responsibilities that come with being parents, Alex made it clear that the heart of their relationship hasn't changed. "It's still the same marriage at the core," she shared. "He's still the same guy that I married 4 yrs ago and we still laugh through allllll the ups and downs and have so much fun together!"
Alex didn't gloss over the reality of adjusting to life with a baby—especially when it comes to communication and teamwork. "We've definitely had to figure out our new normal and also how to balance responsibilities, and have had to really work on our communication!" she admitted. Any new parent knows exactly how that feels!
Looking ahead, Alex also mentioned they're determined to carve out more one-on-one time as a couple. "We are going to try to do a better job of prioritizing date nights!" she wrote. "I'm excited to see how things progress as we get better at balancing everything."
