Every parent (or grandparent) has been there: The baby's fussing, bedtime is approaching, and suddenly you're performing a one-person variety show just to calm everyone down. Ree Drummond shared a new video on Instagram last night proving she knows exactly how that goes.
In the clip, Ree is out on the ranch road with her granddaughter Sofia, pushing the stroller and skipping down the pavement while the whole pack of ranch dogs follows behind. (Though, as Ree notes, the Basset Hounds quickly get sidetracked sniffing who knows what. 😂) If you've ever had to invent creative (read: ridiculous) ways to soothe a fussy baby, you'll immediately recognize Ree's slightly exaggerated movements that she's executing purely for Sofia's amusement.
"Entertaining Sofia during her fussy pre-bedtime walk last night," she captioned the clip. "We parents and grandparents do what must be done." Ree set the whole scene to the song "We're Off to See the Wizard," which feels pretty accurate for the moment.
You can't tell in Ree's clip, but Sofia was definitely getting a kick out of her one-woman show! Alex later shared a video of her baby girl giggling and laughing as they strolled down the street: "ReeRee is so funny!"
It's impressive Ree has any bounce left in her step, given how much dancing she did at Paige's wedding just days ago. While her newly married daughter has jetted off to her honeymoon, Alex and baby Sofia are still hanging out at the ranch and relaxing after all the wedding excitement. And here Ree is, already back at it—though maybe it's not that surprising, considering how many rowing machine workouts and stretching routines she's squeezed into her routine lately. With five dogs, four kids, and one adorable granddaughter to look after, there's no time for her to slow down!
