If you've ever tried to take a summer walk in Dallas, you know it can feel like walking directly into a hair dryer. So when Alex Drummond shared her sneaky hack for staying active with baby Sofia in the summer heat, everyone took note!

In a recent Instagram story, Alex posted a sweet stroller view of Sofia during an afternoon walk—not through the neighborhood, but through the mall. "Mall walking this afternoon to beat the heat," she wrote, showing baby Sofia happily kicking her feet as they cruised past storefronts in the comfort of air conditioning.

The idea came after a previous walk left them both overheated, even with Sofia's little portable fan clipped to the stroller. Alex admitted she was worried it was just too hot for her little one—and for George, too, who has a very fluffy coat and no tolerance for Texas summers.

Rather than waking up before the sun or heading to the gym (where you can't exactly squeeze a stroller on a treadmill), Alex got creative. Mall walking has been around for decades for a reason. It's air conditioned, stroller friendly, and surprisingly peaceful, especially if you go before the stores open. If you want to give it a try, check with your local mall—many open their doors early for walkers!

It helps that Alex also swears by her favorite walking shoes. She's been loyal to the Hoka Clifton line for years and has owned several pairs in different colors. White, bright blue, soft peach—you name it! She calls them the best running, walking, and workout shoes she's ever worn. So when the new Clifton 10s launched, she couldn't resist grabbing the "perfect cream color."

If you're looking for a low-stress way to move your body this summer, especially with a baby in tow, mall walking might be your best bet. Comfortable shoes, iced coffee, and AC? Say no more!
