Ree Drummond is not messing around when it comes to her granddaughter, Sofia Marie! And after a recent incident involving one of Sofia's first bites of solid food, ReeRee might just be packing her bags for Dallas.
It all started when Alex Drummond shared an adorable (and very relatable) video of Sofia trying eggs for the first time. Following their pediatrician's advice, Alex introduced eggs early to check for any allergies. But let's just say…Sofia was not impressed. After taking a bite of the plain omelet, she scrunched up her tiny face, gagged, and immediately spat out the offending egg. Alex summed the moment up perfectly in her Instagram Story caption: "Not the biggest egg fan." You can say that again!
But things took a hilariously dramatic turn when Alex texted the video to her mom. Ree's immediate reaction was peak protective grandma energy: "WHY ARE YOU FEEDING HER AN OMELET?????? She's too little!!!!! SHE HATES IT."
Alex tried her best to explain that the pediatrician recommended it, but Ree was already planning her rescue mission. "I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS LUNACY," she wrote in all capital letters. (That's the virtual equivalent of shouting, obviously). "I'M COMING TO GET HER."
After Ree's spirited reaction, Alex shared their funny conversation on Instagram—and followers couldn't help but laugh right along with them. Every grandma can probably relate: Seeing your precious grandchild gagging on new food isn't easy, even if it's all part of growing up!
Luckily, Sofia quickly moved past the egg incident, and we're pretty sure Alex did, too. But something tells us Ree will remember—and she's definitely going to bring it up during Sofia's next visit. (And her first birthday, and her graduation, and her wedding…😂)
