Alex Drummond shared a sweet thought on Instagram this week that struck a chord with dog lovers everywhere. In a video posted to her Stories, she opened up about something she often does in conversation with her husband, Mauricio. "I always like to pose hypothetical questions to Mauricio," she said. "Like, how much would you pay if someone said that they could give him a shot that would make him live forever? What's the highest you would pay?"

The "him" in question was none other than George—their golden retriever, their first baby, and a very beloved member of the family. "And I legit think I would pay like $200,000," Alex said. "Georgie, I would take out a loan for you to live forever. Like, I would take out a mortgage. Because a lifetime of these cuddles is priceless."

She followed the video with a photo of George stretched out on the floor, curled up next to baby toys and a cozy blanket. "So if anyone has any leads on a shot to make dogs live longer let me know," she wrote over the image. "I could be your highest bidder. Because I'm actually scared for the heartbreak coming my way in 7-8 years."

It’s hard to read that and not feel a little lump in your throat. George has been with Alex and Mauricio through some of their biggest life milestones: marriage, career changes, and most recently, becoming parents to baby Sofia. He was their constant in those early newlywed months, and now, he's taken on the role of big brother with the same steady sweetness everyone knows and loves. The bond between George and Sofia is already something special!

And anyone who's ever loved a dog understands exactly where Alex is coming from. There's nothing hypothetical about the love they bring into a home or the space they hold in our hearts. ❤️
