I’ve been walking/running/walking/running/but mostly walking in the evenings, because I’ve become reacquainted with my FitBit after a long, jiggly break and I’ll be darned if the little contraption isn’t motivating me! Here was my day last Friday. I can’t explain the fact that I was restless eight times the night before, but I suspect it had something to do with the fact that the wind that night made me wonder several times if the roof was going to blow off our house, and also due to the fact that I kept dreaming about chickens with really long tails.
But that’s another story for another time.
I have loved getting reacquainted with our gravel roads with the rubber on my tennis shoes rather than the tires of my pickup. The May weather has been glorious (violently, impossibly windy but glorious) and Charlie comes along with me, so we get some nice quality time together.
It’s also nice, because the ol’ guy and I are often on the same pace.
And neither of us ever minds stopping for a minute here or there if we need to rest our bones.
I choose not to take occasional dips in the pond, I don’t run out into our hay meadow for a bathroom break, I don’t stick my nose into holes in the ground, and I don’t repeatedly try in vain to chase every rabbit I see despite a lifetime of evidence that I could never catch one…
But our differences totally end there.
