We shipped cattle last week.
When we ship cattle, the cattle are loaded in groups onto our set of scales, then weighed.
Here, Marlboro Man is helping “shush” the cattle to get them all on the scale.
If he ever tries to do that to me…
Well, it won’t be pretty.
Oh, it was hot that day. As a result, I called Marlboro Man “Sweaty” all day instead of “Sweetie.”
I’m a romantic that way.
Hat on, shirt untucked.
It’s the only way to deal with scorchers like this.
While Marlboro Man and a couple of cowboys stayed behind to sort and weigh the cattle, everyone else went back out to bring in more.
Peek-a-boo!
It’s so nice to have plenty of help.
Especially Pa-Pa. What’s up, Pa-Pa?
And Halle. Yo, Halle-Bear!
And Paige and Bryce. Hey, dudes!
And Alex.
Howdy, Alex.
And speaking of Sweaty…look at that beautiful, loyal, hardworking ranch horse.
We’re all ready for cooler weather around here.
Once they were back at the pens…
Everyone chipped in to get the rest of the cattle weighed.
All in a day’s work!
And speaking of work…
Well…work isn’t everything.
Country kids have to play sometimes!
It was a hot, dusty morning…but they finally got it all done.
And they did it with a smile!
That’s always a nice bonus.
