After church yesterday, the boys’ buddies Jack, Kevin, and Treyvonne came over to watch the recording of Saturday’s Pioneer Woman episode on Food Network (also known as PW on FN, or “POWFUN” if you want to turn the acronyms into a word). The show was all about football, which meant they were all on the show since they a) are on the same football team and b) all came over to the Lodge after one of their games last fall—the same game that was filmed for the show.
Gosh, I hope that made sense.
It was fun watching the boys watch themselves.
It’s funny. Whenever I watch myself on TV, I never can see anything because my hands are over my eyes.
I can’t imagine why this is. Ha.
Kevin enjoyed the whole experience!
In other news, that’s my cowboy husband wearing shorts on national TV.
Which is more than I’ve ever done!
Here’s what you won’t ever see me do on national TV:
Wear shorts
Wear skirts
Wear short sleeves
Eat a banana
So if you’re waiting for any of those episodes, I want to adjust your expectations!
You should have heard the boys when the spread they ate that day appeared on the screen.
Even though they had just eaten a huge lunch yesterday after church, snacked all afternoon, and polished off the batch of triple chocolate cookies I’d made, they still ooooh’d and aaaah’d over all of it. And asked me if I’d go make it for them again.
To which I replied, “No.”
Ha!
Treyvonne loved the chili.
And he was the only one besides me who was cheering for USC that day last fall! They played ASU, and Marlboro Man had successfully brainwashed all the boys to cheer for the Sundevils.
I’ve always thought Treyvonne was exceptionally bright for his age!

Wife, Mom and…Grandma!
Ree’s kids (daughters Alex and Paige and sons Bryce and Todd) are all grown up, and as of December 2024, Ree is the proud grandma of the cutest baby ever, Sofia Scott, born to Alex and her husband Mauricio. Ree still cooks for Ladd (and the kids when they’re home), and she also looks after a few mischievous ranch dogs.
