It was a dream!

The clock is ticking away toward Alex and Mauricio's wedding; it will be here in less than a month! And okay...I know the day isn't about me, but here's my wedding update anyway: I have narrowed my dress decision down to two choices, I'm exercising like a woman with a mission, I decided to wear my hair half up, half down (but I will probably change my mind four times on that front), and maybe I'm in denial, but I can really only describe my current wedding state as...excited! I'm not really worried about anything, except my dress choices zipping—and, if they do zip, whether I'll be able to breathe if they do. But even then, I ain't that worried. That's why they invented duct tape, right?

Oh, and I guess I could be a little worried about Oklahoma weather since the wedding is outdoors.

And maybe I could be a little concerned about the Drummond dogs and how to keep them from finding the reception food before it makes its way out to guests? They're good, man. They have sniffers.

But honestly, not really worried! We're all having fun, and Alex had her bridal shower last weekend. It was hosted by Ladd's brother Tim's wife, Missy, her daughter, Halle, as well as my BFF Hyacinth and her daughter (and Alex's BFF) Meg, and our longtime family friend, Haley...who used to babysit my kids and who happens to work for me now! (Whew...did you get all that?)

Recent rains thwarted the shower being held outdoors at Missy and Tim's place, so they wound up pulling it off in the bakery at The Mercantile, which was lovely! I didn't do a thing except show up ready to eat. (I'm good at that!) Here are some photos from the sweet event. I think this wedding just might happen!

The bride arrives! Sutton, her second cousin and flower girl, greeted her with a hug. Alex lived with Sutton’s family when she did an internship the summer after her junior year in college, so they’re more like sisters than cousins!

The Girls and Me ❤️

By the way, I haven’t been posting a lot of pictures of myself in this post because I forgot my wedding shower outfit and only had jeans, which felt antithetical to the whole light, bright, wedding vibe...but I have a butterfly on my shirt so I guess it’s okay. Ha. And besides, it’s all about the memories!

Gift Time!

I guess I don’t go to wedding showers very often, because I forgot about the part where the bride opens gifts. It reminded me of the 1980’s! That was a strange thing to say, haha! (I told you I don’t go to wedding showers very often!)

Together Again

As you can see, my mom, sister, and I were glad to finally be together again! It didn’t take us long to huddle together and talk shop! I think this was the part where I was telling them I don’t get to have any cake because I need my dress for the wedding to zip.

And speaking of cakes! Have you ever seen a prettier one? Love the gold leaf, and love the cake stand. Haley procured this beauty from All Things Cake in Tulsa. A total beauty!

And okay. I might have had a little piece. I have to be my authentic self!

Thank you for letting me share some wedding shower fun! As I said, there's less than a month left before the big day, which means I have lots of things to share. You will get your wedding fix over the next few weeks!
