I made the five-hour drive down to Dallas Friday to attend the weekend wedding of my godson. It was a love-filled, food-filled, and hair spray-filled weekend, and I loved getting to hang with my girls and their guys. I hope you enjoy the following wedding album, which is limited mostly to our motley crew of five, what we wore, who's married to whom, who's dating whom, who attended solo, and why I wore the nail polish color I wore. Weddings are so much fun!

Two Sisters and Their Fellas

I believe I have introduced David, Paige's "friend" before, but in case you didn't catch it: This is David, Paige's "friend." 😊 A fun piece of trivia: The groom's sister introduced David and Paige, so he wasn't just Paige's plus-one---they all knew one another. Of course, you know Alex's former "friend" (and current husband!) Mauricio. It's fun to watch these four hang together!

Fifth Wheel is Fun!

Ladd wasn't able to come to Dallas, so the girls and boys were happy to keep me company and go get me cake. šŸ˜‚ We got down and boogied on the dance floor even though none of the four knew what getting down and boogying meant (and even though I only knew the words to one of the songs. All these kids were born in the wrong decade!!) My pants were a bit too long, but the great thing about a wedding is that no one is looking at anyone but the bride...so all good!

Goin' On Three Years

It's hard to believe that this May will be three years since Alex and Mauricio's wedding! It has flown by, which makes sense to me when I realize it's been over 27 years for Ladd and me. So Alex and Mauricio, just multiply how fast the past three years have gone by nine, and you'll get a small taste of how crazy it seems to me that I've been married almost three decades. Especially since I'm only 29! (I've always been really good at math!)

Old Friends

This is the uncle of the groom, and he and I have known each other for...well, forever. Our moms went to college together, our dads went to medical school together, and his nephew, the groom, is my godson. Longtime family friends, and I've only seen him twice in the past thirty years! (Well, this makes three times.) It's always nice to reconnect with old buddies who knew you when you were young and dumb and awkward and silly. (I am no longer young and dumb, but the other two probably still apply. šŸ˜‚)

Princess Grace's Hair

I'm not posting any photos of the wedding, bride, groom, or any other details since that's their special night to share...but I would be remiss if I did not share the mother-of-the-groom's hair style. She told me she used Alex's wedding hair as inspo, which made me smile. I love an elegant updo!

Dog Introductions

Mauricio was perplexed that the Doberman guarding the wedding venue was disinterested in meeting the Golden Retriever on the end of his swizzle stick. This photo perfectly illustrates two things: One, Mauricio is weird. Two, Mauricio is perfect for Alex! Never a dull moment with this fella, and that's part of why we love him.

I Wore a Pantsuit

Is pantsuit one word? Or two words? I find conflicting answers. In either event, this was technically a black tie wedding, but I don't think I have worn a dress since Alex's wedding and the truth is that I'm simply more comfortable in pants. This one had little pailettes in the loose shape of flowers and butterflies, but sometimes when I walked by a mirror it looked a little like Vegas Elvis, which I didn't mind. I have fingernail polish dark enough to cover the smashed thumb I posted about on social media in December...which reminds me! I'm going to be posting that whole saga here on my blog in the next few days. Why do these things always happen to me?
