Paige Drummond's Super-Fun Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes

Um...can I be a bridesmaid, please??

Ahh, to be a bride in 2024. Correction: Ahh, to be a bridesmaid in 2024!! Today Paige started gifting her friends (and sister!) with bridesmaid proposal boxes, which I don't think existed in 1996 when I became engaged to her dad...or if they did exist, they either hadn't made it to Oklahoma yet or I wasn't cool enough to know about them. Needless to say, they're fun and cute and a clever way to ask one's bridesmaids if they will...well, be bridesmaids! After she and David became engaged last month, Paige started working on putting together personalized boxes to gift her prospective bridesmaids, and I thought I'd share some photos with you so you can see a very clear example of the fact that she's creative and crafty and I am not. (Please remember that I was a very glue gun-deficient mother.)

Assembling the Boxes

Paige went to Dallas this weekend to celebrate her twenty-fifth birthday, so she took everything with her and put the boxes together this morning, right before she left to deliver them. I won't officially confirm the number of bridesmaids Paige will have in her wedding next year, but you can do some simple math and figure it out. (Actually, you can do some simple counting. 😂) I would like the record to reflect that I had three bridesmaids when Ladd and I got married. I think I was trying to be different. I also had pencil-thin eyebrows thanks to a trend set by Drew Barrymore in the 90's, but that's another story for another time.

Boxes, Ribbons, and Flowers, Oh My!

Paige got some blank white boxes, then ordered vinyl name stickers from Etsy. A pretty satin ribbon and a little cluster of faux flowers, and once again...she's far more creative than I. I love the color of ribbon! It's kind of a champagne and a yellow and a buttercream all rolled together. And I love Peyton, Paige's close friend. She doesn't like to ski, which I can relate to, and she does perfect impersonations of a number of different pop stars. She is a gem!

Deliveries!

These girls were Paige's good friends at University of Arkansas, and I love their sweet friendship. I've gotten to know them all through the years and they all celebrate one another's milestones and support one another so genuinely. It's fun to think about how their friendships will evolve and strengthen through the years. Also, I really want one of those boxes. (Paige, can I get a box? I was told I would be getting a box? Or maybe I dreamed that.)

What's Inside

Paige put together a little note using a template on Canva, and (I loved this touch) a printed black-and-white photo of Paige with the box recipient. She also ordered champagne labels and little matchbooks with the wedding date on them. And a little candle tin to go with the matches! And a little travel size of some nice hand cream. (Paige, do you have any extra hand creams?)

Let's Tie the Knot!

Each box had a small scarf in a little cylindrical box (Paige chose a different scarf for each bridesmaid) and included a "let's tie the knot" card. It's a small, thin scarf known as a "mitzah scarf" that's worn knotted (either around the neck, the wrist, or even on the strap of a handbag), and I love the play on words. 😊 Full disclosure: The scarf was a splurge, and I take most of the blame for talking her into adding it to the box. In other words, I am a bad influence. But do you ever get something in your head as a mother and can't let it go? In this case, it was a scarf in a little cylindrical box. I wish it had been mozzarella sticks or something. (It usually is.)

Maid of Honor!

This is Anna's box---oh, how I love Anna. David might need to be prepared for her to go on the honeymoon with them, as she and Paige tend to be inseparable. There was also a knotted bracelet to drive home the "tie the knot" theme, and well...Paige, I'm waiting for my bridemaid box? I'm sure you'll be bringing it by soon? Anyway, the fact that Anna is Paige's maid of honor makes me happy, she's such a sweet friend to Paige. And she'll have a blast on the honeymoon!

Next Stop: Alex!

Alex is Matron of Honor because she's married. Out of curiosity, I just looked up the word "matron" in the dictionary and it reads "a married woman, especially a dignified and sober middle-aged one." I am laughing so hard, Ladd is asking me what is going on. Anyway, you can see that the scarf colors are more in line with Alex's palette. 🌸 And it's crazy that Alex will be a mom when she is matron of honor! Excuse me while I go cry.

Great job on the proposal boxes, Paigie! Let me know what time you'll be here with mine! 😂
