This Is Us
We were friends in college—I went to Arkansas and David went to Oklahoma State, and we had a lot of mutual friends. We started dating in July 2023, one year after I graduated. We’d had a bunch of little hangouts, then we went to a nice steakhouse and he asked me to be his girlfriend! Here we are at an OSU game.
Meeting the Family
We went to a concert in Tulsa in fall 2023 and stayed at the ranch. David is an outdoorsy guy and he loves this lifestyle, and my parents were really welcoming. They’ve always trusted me to choose a good guy, and he is! He’s funny, very caring and honest. And of course he loves the dogs.

It’s a Match!
Betsy DutcherDuring David’s first Christmas vacation in Vail with our family, my mom brought him right into the action! She got Todd, Todd’s friend Dalton and David matching pj’s, a Drummond tradition. My mom is very goofy, and David totally appreciates that!

A Good Catch
Last summer we went to my friend’s wedding and I caught the bouquet. I’m pretty sure David already knew he was going to propose, but he kept his cool and was like, “Oh, that’s funny.”

A Big Happy Family
Sarah Slover BrownMy family was lying in wait at the park! Afterward we had a party at a local rooftop bar with friends, my grandparents and David’s family. My mom chose the food and fun cocktails like ranch water. David’s mother, Heather, gets along really well with my mom—they text all the time.
Our Forever After
Sarah Slover BrownWe’ve never lived in the same city; by the time David got to Dallas, I was working in Pawhuska. He is a construction engineer who oversees sites, and we’re leaning toward being in Dallas for a few years after the wedding. The ranch is always going to be here. I think it’s where we want to end up long-term.
